PTZ operation refers to remotely changing the camera’s orientation and zoom operation.

PTZ stands for Panoramac (horizontal operation), Tilt (vertical operation), and Zoom (zooming).

NOTE

Some cameras do not have PTZ capability. This function works with cameras that have PTZ capability.

Perform PTZ operation #

  1. Select the camera to be operated and click the PTZ icon in the upper right corner of the screen.

  2. Various operations.
    The recorded image itself will change due to the function of remotely operating the camera itself with PTZ.

    Zoom+: Zooms in on the screen. (Press and hold for continuous operation)
    -: Zooms out the screen. (Press and hold for continuous operation.) Pan / Tilt<> Move the screen left or right (the same for up and down). (The same applies to up and down.) (Press and hold for continuous operation.) SpeedAdjusts the speed of movement. *This function may not work with some cameras.
  3. Click the PTZ icon again or click [×] on the PTZ operation panel to end the PTZ operation.

Disable PTZ operation #

You can set the camera to inhibit PTZ operation. If the camera does not support PTZ, this operation cannot be performed.
(This operation can only be performed by the application administrator.)

  1. From for the camera in question, click on Advanced Settings.

  2. Set the PTZ operation inhibit toggle to [ON].

Registering PTZ Presets #

PTZ presets are functions that allow you to pre-set the orientation and zoom status of compatible cameras.

NOTE

Preset function is not available for amnimo VMS users.

  1. Open the target camera image.
  2. Click the PTZ icon to move or zoom the camera to the position you want to register in the preset.
  3. Click the PTZ Preset button.

  4. Click on the preset registration button .

  5. Enter a preset name and click Save.

  6. Click the number of the registered preset from [PTZ Presets] again and confirm that the camera moves to the set angle and position.

If the preset number buttons on the screen do not appear #

The preset number buttons on the screen may not be displayed depending on the size of the screen. If this is the case, please follow the steps below to perform a preset from the [ Preset/Tour Settings ] button.

  1. [Open PTZ Presets by clicking on the PTZ Presets button and then Preset/Tour Settings.
  2. Find the preset you created.
  3. and confirm that the camera moves to the position registered in the preset.

Notes on PTZ presets

Preset names may not be changed from the integrated video management system if the preset is saved to the camera in the settings on the Nx Witness side, or depending on the camera model.

When a change is attempted, a new preset is added with that preset name.

In this case, the preset name can be changed by deleting the preset and then adding it again.

When a preset is saved to a camera in the Nx Witness settings, it means that the following settings have been made in the Expert tab of the camera settings.

PTZ Tour Settings #

PTZ tour is a function that allows the camera to rotate through preset positions for a target camera in sequence.
When combined with Nx Witness, PTZ tours can also be performed from an integrated video management system.

NOTE

To perform this operation, a PTZ tour must be created on the Nx Witness side in advance.

  1. Create a PTZ tour in Nx Witness with reference to ” Setting Up PTZ Tours “.
  2. Click the PTZ Preset button.

  3. [Open PTZ Presets by clicking on the PTZ Presets button and then Preset/Tour Settings.

  4. Confirm that the tour registered in Nx Witness is displayed. (In this procedure, the tour “SupTest” is created in advance in Nx Witness.)

  5. [Click the Start Tour button to begin the tour.

    Click “X” to close the Preset/Tour Settings screen as the tour begins in the background.
  6. To stop the tour, do one of the following
    How to stop the tour
    1. Select a preset stationary position.
    2. Control the camera orientation on the PTZ screen.
    3. Shifts from DIRECT mode to CLOUD mode.
